Welcome December

The first night of December was a fun one. 

They had to get their homework done before we could start the fun. 

 

We took a tradition from my sister and every December 1st we do our "dinner in the dark". We eat only by candlelight.

Then it was time to begin all of our advent activities. 

First the advent streamer. This year we did tootsie rolls.

Then on to the advent tree. The first pocket always has a new Christmas book in it. 

Then we move on to the countdown tree. 

Every year I wrap up a bunch of the Christmas books we already own to make a book advent. We then open one every night and we read it. 

This year I surprised the girls by having the first one be another new book. 

We then did our Jesse Tree devotional and then hung up the first ornament. 

We decided to have a fun Family Home Evening after all of that and we played Pokemon headbandz. 

I love all of our traditions and think December is the most fun month of the entire year!
