First Easter Egg Hunt

The Saturday before Easter was really busy. Both sides of our families decided to do the hunt on that day. The Van Wagenen get together was in the morning and the King hunt in the afternoon.
We left early to drive the hour to Doug's parents house...
But it turned out that I had the time wrong. And we got there an hour early. No one was there so we let ourselves into the back yard and played until Doug's mom got home.

I love how I caught Maddy like this right after she kicked the ball.
And Abi right after she hit the ball and then the next time she hit it...

And then there was this time I caught Maddy mid run completely off the ground.

Maddy liked Doug to shake the flowers off of this tree so she could pretend it was snow.

We swung on the swing for a long time..

Then when mom got home, the girls had a tea party...
whilst Doug and I hid the many, many eggs...
Then we helped out with the food and then soon everyone else started showing up.
Kassandra and Abi...
Lizzie with Abi's basket on her head...
The kids each had a color of egg to find and a partner that was older than them to help.
Lizzie and Taylor...
There were so many eggs that after a little while Doug and I got lazy.
Strauss was the first to find the huge pile I hid under a frisbee.

Soon Abi also found the frisbee stash.

Abi shared the frisbee secret with Maddy...

A few of the eggs had candy and most of them had little papers that said bunny money and then they traded them in for little prizes she had for them.
Maddy got this game...
Abi got this one...
Then we had to say goodbye to everyone and leave early to get back to my parents' house on time.
