More moments from January and February

I went on a field trip with Abi's class to the children's museum at Thanksgiving Point.
It was fun that I was able to just drive there with Abi in the car rather than having to ride the bus.

We got to do a little private class first and then had a couple of hours to explore.

I was responsible for 5 kids and I was exhausted by the end of it because while 4 of them were great (including Abi and her best at school Kaitlin) the other girl kept running off and disappearing.
Abi and Kaitlin dressed to match. They do this a lot.
After the children's museum we went to the close by dinosaur museum to eat our lunches.

Maddy with the anime eyes she drew....

I picked up some of the Riley Blake Anne of Green Gables fabric...

Abi had a science fair project to do. She popped a bunch of different kinds of microwave popcorn to see which kind popped the most.

When Abi was making her poster Maddy decided she wanted to make one too.
So she made one for a book report at school.

My mom taught Maddy how to cross stitch.

Whenever my mom is around these two girls don't like to be too far away.

I bought more fabric that was cheaper to go with the Riley Blake Anne line for a quilt.

More snow!

My dad finally got his official move up to Lieutenant in the Navy. He actually earned this so many years ago before he retired but it somehow was never made official. Over the past couple of years they have been working with Senator Hatch's office to get it done.
We all met at my sister's house and my mom pinned him!

New Years Eve 2016

New Year's Eve was a very low key night for us.
I had all of the Christmas decorations away except for the tree.
As usual we decorated it with balloons that had things in them. Some had money, some had little things that we had to do if we popped it like jumping jacks or something silly.

We filled out little papers about 2016.

We opened a new game... Scattergories.

Then of course we played a bunch of games.

We watched some Phineas and Ferb...

Then at midnight we popped some crackers...

and had some sparkling cider.

More moments from our life- December/ January

The girls played "spy" for a few nights in a row.
They dressed all in black with walkie talkies and were running all over the house trying to be sneaky.
Whenever we saw them you would hear one of them yell "abort, abort!" over the walkie talkie.

Maddy's tooth was insanely loose and yet wouldn't fall out.
It was sticking out in a way that reminded us of Nanny McPhee.

Maddy used most of her savings to buy a Hatchimal we happened upon in a Target one day.

We came home and she immediately unboxed it and started trying to hatch it.
It took a pretty long time for it to hatch.

She was really happy with her little creature once it hatched... have to say she hasn't played with it much since though. Every once in a while she pulls it out and has some fun but I think the hatching part is the most fun.

Doug installed the stained glass that he made for me.

The girls played in the snow a lot. Maddy isn't a huge fan. Abi loves it and was pretty much instantly out there whenever she could be. It's the only time of year that she is outdoorsy so I try to encourage it as much as possible!

At one point I looked out and saw her laying like this licking the snow. So funny.

Maddy pulled out her own tooth. We were so happy to have the snaggletooth gone!

Abi shoveled the snow one night so Doug wouldn't have to do it when he got home.

Lego was having a competition for a lego design.
It just closed recently and I haven't heard anything so I have no idea who won but I loved her design.
It is a library.
